We’re looking for a Road Surfacing Supervisor to join our growing North West & North Wales Contracting team. Based in Salford, this role will support operations across the North West and North Wales, overseeing site teams and ensuring safe, high‑quality delivery on a range of surfacing schemes.
We have gangs based in Merseyside, Wigan, Manchester and Ruthin — meaning this role offers great accessibility for candidates across North West England as well as Gwynedd, Denbighshire and Flintshire in North Wales.
🔧 What You’ll Be Doing
As our Road Surfacing Supervisor, you'll be at the heart of our site operations, responsible for leading people, delivering excellence, and driving day‑to‑day success.
Your role will include:
1. Managing surfacing schemes across both the motorway and local road networks
2. Leading daily briefings and maintaining strong on‑site presence with Team Leaders and Operatives
3. Completing all site paperwork and admin in line with our Business Management System
4. Ensuring works are delivered to the highest standard and meet contract specifications
5. Identifying any variations and reporting them to the Surfacing Manager / Quantity Surveyor
6. Optimising cost control and operational efficiency, working to agreed budgets
7. Motivating, developing and supporting teams to deliver exceptional performance
8. Ensuring Health & Safety standards are upheld at all times
9. Building and maintaining positive customer relationships
🎯 What We’re Looking For
You’ll bring experience from the surfacing, highways or construction environment, along with the confidence and leadership skills to manage people, performance and safety.
We’re ideally looking for someone who:
10. Has a CSCS card
11. Holds SMSTS (or minimum SSSTS)
12. Has hands‑on experience of asphalts, blacktop and road laying with knowledge of the Specification for Highways Works and British Standards.
13. Has ideally worked on project work, including motorway schemes
14. Has experience in supervising and developing teams
15. Communicates clearly at all levels, internally and externally
16. Is knowledgeable about Health & Safety protocols
17. Can work flexibly, including night shifts and some weekends
18. Works well independently and as part of a wider team
19. Is self‑motivated, proactive and committed to delivering high standards
