Payroll Product Engineering Professional

We’re looking for a SAP Payroll Product Engineering Professional to help deliver reliable, compliant, and scalable payroll solutions across BT. This role is ideal for someone with solid Payroll foundations—particularly in SAP Payroll—and a desire to grow their impact and skills in a collaborative, digitally focused environment.
You will work as part of an experienced team with the opportunity to build your skills by on the job learning and training. You’ll work closely with HR, payroll, and IT teams to support accurate and timely payroll processing, drive system enhancements, and contribute to BT’s digital transformation.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Manage and support SAP Payroll systems to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing.
* Maintain and update payroll configurations in line with business and compliance requirements.
* Collaborate with HR, payroll, and IT teams to troubleshoot issues and implement enhancements.
* Contribute to service design for digital fulfilment journeys and legacy rationalisation.
* Monitor system performance and resolve payroll-related technical problems.
* Support multi-country payroll expansions (e.g. Ireland, India) ensuring local compliance.
* Document processes, changes, and configurations to maintain knowledge continuity.
* Engage with stakeholders to align product vision and deliver business outcomes.
The Skills You’ll Need To Succeed
* SAP Payroll: Experience with SAP Payroll. Any configuration experience will be an advantage.
* Technical proficiency: A willingness to enhance your technical skills and demonstrate a technical aptitude.
* Service design experience: Ability to produce high-quality, designs aligned with BT’s roadmap.
* Digital and agile mindset: Understanding of lean and agile methodologies and working in cross-functional squads.
* Stakeholder engagement: Ability to collaborate with business leads, architects, and senior managers to manage expectations and deliver value.
* Problem-solving: Strong analytical skills to resolve complex payroll and system issues.
* Communication: Clear and confident communicator, able to translate technical concepts for diverse audiences.
* Compliance awareness: Understanding of payroll regulations and ability to ensure system alignment with legal standards.
* Connected leader behaviours: Demonstrates solution-focused achievement, collaborative partnership, and customer-centric thinking.
