An exciting opportunity has arisen for a practice nurse to join our friendly, seaside practice. We are looking for a practice nurse with Primary care experience. The role includes the usual practice nurse duties such as smear taking, wound care, vaccinations, pill checks and long-term condition reviews.
Main duties of the job

1. Your duties will include but are not limited to the following Undertake cytology and action results appropriately
2. Routine acute wound care
3. Care of chronic wounds, pressure and leg ulcers
4. Removal of Sutures/Staples
5. Urinalysis for both acute and chronic conditions
6. Travel planning
7. Family planning Contraception
8. Hormone Replacement Treatment monitoring
9. ECGs both acute and routine as required
10. Peak Flow Readings
11. Phlebotomy
12. Chronic Disease Management (Diabetes)
13. Hypertension Management 24hr Blood Pressure Monitoring and blood pressure checks in clinic
14. Ear syringing
15. Adult immunisations
16. Childhood immunisations
17. Prepare and send samples for lab testing
18. Chaperoning or assisting another clinician as requested
19. Assisting clinicians with minor procedures if required.
About us
We are an established surgery, providing care for approximately 8,200 patients with a practice area that extends across the whole of Torquay and parts of Paignton. We employ a full range of professional medical and clerical staff and our large, spacious premises enable us to house additional services.
Based in the heart of Torquay, close to the local bus and train station, there are three waiting areas available for patients, which provide a comfortable waiting space. The practice building is also served by a lift which provides access the first and second floor of the building. We operate a smoke-free policy and the building and car park are non-smoking areas.
