Job responsibilities
We are looking for an outstanding Chef who is passionate about food and wants to make a difference.
You will be working 40 hours a week (Shift times are 8 am to 6 pm, Monday to Friday, with weekends expected) at Ellen Mhor, creating an excellent experience for the people in our care.
Ellen Mhor is a specialist residential service with nursing, supporting up to 12 adults living with learning disabilities and complex needs, who may have an autistic spectrum condition. The team also supports individuals with challenging behaviors and associated mental or physical health needs. We provide specialist nursing care and support tailored to individual needs, promoting independence and community integration.

Key responsibilities
* Prepare, cook, and serve nutritious, balanced, and appetizing meals.
* Provide special diets, considering individual preferences and needs.
* Liaise with nursing colleagues to meet nutritional and dietary requirements.
* Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen, service areas, and dining room.
* Ensure compliance with health and safety standards and Food Hygiene Regulations.
* Handle, maintain, and store kitchen equipment according to Cygnet procedures.
* Use chemicals in line with COSHH regulations.

Candidate requirements
* Skilled Chef able to work under pressure.
* Preferably experienced in the care sector.
* Ability to plan nourishing and attractive menus within budgets.
* Hold a food hygiene certificate with good personal hygiene standards.
* Polite, professional, and positive attitude.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Ability to work independently, as part of a team, and under supervision.
* Qualified in catering to City & Guilds 706: 1 & 2 level or NVQ Level 2/3.
Successful candidates will be required to undergo an enhanced PVG check.
