Head Accountant a Local Authority in The South West who are looking to appoint a talented Head Accountant on an Interim basis are working with Spencer Clarke Group to find the right candidate. What's on offer: Day rate: £400 - £600, inside IR35.*negotiable based on experience *please submit your CV with the rate you require Hybrid Working 2/3 Days 3-6 Months Initial Contract Contract type: Contract (37 hrs a week) Hours: 09:00 -17:00 About the role: Based in The South West (Fully Remote): Supporting the Deputy Director of Finance - Accounting Services, this role provides strategic financial guidance to Heads of Service and Chief Officers, aiding both current and future service delivery. Responsibilities include analysing complex financial data, budgeting and forecasting, financial monitoring, supporting statutory accounts closure, and driving continuous improvement of financial processes. Responsibilities: Provide expert financial advice and strategic support to Heads of Service, Senior Managers, Chief Officers, elected Members, and external partners. Lead the annual budget setting process, in-year financial monitoring, and year-end close-down activities. Analyse complex financial data to inform decision-making, forecasting, and financial planning. Lead, support, and develop a small team of up to four direct reports. About you: You will have the following experience: Qualified Accountant, e.g. CIPFA, CIMA, ACCA or other equivalent qualifications/experience.
