Overview
This Oncology Consultant post will be based at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust (UHCW) and South Warwickshire University Foundation Trust (SWUFT). The appointee will work in site specific local and specialist MDTs at UHCW and SWUFT.
The appointee will work with site specific local and specialist MDTs for Gynaecological cancers at the UHCW and Colorectal cancers at SWUFT. The typical new patient caseload is expected to be around 5 per week, and up to 210 per annum overall, based on 42 working weeks of routine work (excluding leave and on-call).
Responsibilities
* Support the Acute Oncology Service and the Oncology ward in-patient care, as necessary on working days.
* Provide oncology consultant input for Gynaecological cancers at UHCW and colorectal cancers at SWUFT.
* Work with site-specific local and specialist MDTs at UHCW and SWUFT.
* Co‑ordinate care for patients treated in the Arden Cancer Centre on the UH site and Rugby St. Cross Hospital; SWUFT patients are treated in the Aylesford unit at Warwick Hospital and the Rigby unit at Stratford Hospital.
