Joining Waterman Aspen as a Nature Positive / Ecology Lead – Principal to Technical Director level will see you as a key member of the Water and Environment team. Your responsibilities include:

Key expertise and experience required include:
* Extensive experience in ecological consultancy, focusing on protected species surveys, mitigation design, and habitat assessment
* Proven ability to assess and develop Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) strategies
* Designing and implementing species mitigation plans in accordance with UK legislation and policies
* Experience conducting UK Habitat Classification surveys and botanical assessments
* Leading river morphology surveys and nutrient neutrality assessments
* Managing ecological projects of varying scales, ensuring standards and budgets are met
* Engaging with clients, authorities, and regulators to meet environmental objectives
* Strong knowledge of UK and EU wildlife legislation and planning policies
* Leadership and team management skills, fostering collaboration
* Business development experience, including winning work streams and developing bids
* Chartered Ecologist (CEcol) or working towards chartership with a relevant body
* Experience with DEFRA biodiversity metrics and biodiversity accounting frameworks
* Developing innovative, nature-positive solutions
* Proficiency in GIS and ecological data analysis tools
