Overview
Childrens Mental Health Practitioner required for Central Basildon PCN, 12 months fixed term. This role aligns with the NHS long term plan to realign community mental health services with primary care networks, creating integrated models of primary and community mental health care.
Responsibilities
* Coordinate at the heart of GP practices as a fully integrated member of the multi-disciplinary team with regards to response and management pathways
* Provide a combined consultation, advice, triage and liaison function in accordance with agreed protocols
* Support children and young people with mild to moderate mental health problems through evidence-based interventions
* Manage a caseload of CYP with mild to moderate mental health needs, including assessment, full assessment, case load management, and liaison with operations management and clinical/strategic leads to ensure delivery of the PCN initiative
* Deliver evidence-based low intensity interventions in GP services and support liaison between professionals; work with GPs to support children, young people and families
* Deliver individual interventions and group support; manage clinical caseload and waiting lists; meet service targets
Requirements / Qualifications
* Essential: Experience delivering evidence-based psychological interventions in mental health with children and young people (minimum 2 years); experience assessing a wide range of presentations (low mood, anxiety, OCD, phobias, early psychosis, developmental conditions, etc.); experience with neurodivergence and more complex presentations
* Desirable: CBT training at Pg level; experience in primary care settings and delivering clinical interventions in diverse cultural contexts
* Essential: Ability to travel efficiently throughout the area
Role Details
* Band: 7
* Salary: £47,810 to £54,710 per annum pro rata (plus High Cost Area Supplement)
* Contract: Fixed term, 12 months
* Working pattern: Full-time, flexible working, compressed hours
* Location: Central Basildon PCN (Fryerns Medical Centre, Basildon, SS14 3SS) with travel around the county as required
