Role Summary
The Band 4 Nurse Associate is a highly trained support role registered and regulated by the Nursing Midwifery Council (NMC) working at a level above that of Senior Healthcare Support workers and has a more in depth understanding about factors that influence health and ill-health anatomy and physiology) in a range of settings covering pre-life to end of life.
They deliver effective, safe and responsive nursing in and across a wide range of health and care settings. Nursing Associates work independently and with others under the leadership and direction of a registered nurse within defined parameters to deliver care in line with the agreed plan.
They can undertake and monitor the following activities in the care of patients under indirect supervision of a registered practitioner and take action as appropriate.
The more senior registered professionals will continue to be the primary assessors and prescribers of care while NAs deliver and adapt care, contributing to assessment within agreed parameters as outlined in this scope of practice.

This is a substantive Band 4 Nursing Associate post. Working under the direction of the Band 6 Community Specialist Nurse. Our community Nursing teams are based in Exeter to the South and West of the city. You will be based in a team of community nurses who oversee the Westbank (Exminster/Ide) area, Exeter but at times will need to support patients across the whole city of Exeter. It is therefore vital you are an adaptive and flexible worker throughout the day.
We work closely with the wider community MDT to promote admission avoidance and empowering patients to stay at home. We work very closely with our GP, Hospice, Physio and Occupational Therapy, Social Work, Voluntary and Urgent Care Services.
Staff are supported with supervision both in team meetings or a one to one basis. This is also integral to our work and considered a priority to support staff at work both to develop professionally but also to support their health and wellbeing and provide a safe environment to discuss professional issues.

Contributing to Integrated care
6. You must be a car driver and have use of a car. A mileage allowance is as per Agenda for Change. Currently, in all bases there is free parking however, this may be open to change.
As registered professionals, nursing associates are individually accountable for their own professional conduct and practice.
They will be expected to uphold the NMC Code, to work within their scope of practice and to raise concerns where needed.
They will renew their registration via the usual revalidation process.
The Nursing Associate will work as part of a team, delivering health and social care that focuses on the holistic needs of service users.
They will carry out specific clinical tasks and responsibilities as delegated by registered practitioners
Working Pattern: hours per week. We provide a 7 day per week service between the hours on -0. You will be included in weekend working and bank holidays over a 4 week rostering period.
