We are currently working on a fantastic opportunity to work for a PE-backed manufacturing business based in Oldham, recruiting a management accountant. This role requires 5 days in the office.
The business has experienced consistent year-on-year growth and is seeking a part-qualified ACCA or CIMA accountant, or QBE management accountant. The role offers excellent career progression opportunities. The successful candidate will report to the Group Finance Director and will be responsible for the day-to-day management accounting tasks, including producing management accounts for the UK business and supporting the US accounts where necessary.
A key aspect of this role is to 'hands-on' deliver the production of monthly accounts, providing insightful commentary and analysis to identify potential issues and improvements.
Main duties and responsibilities
* Report to the Group Finance Director, prepare and deliver month-end accounts, P&L, cash flow, and balance sheet, and develop business KPIs.
* Support the annual budgeting and forecasting process.
* Prepare the group sales report.
* Prepare accruals and prepayments for subsidiaries.
* Review and prepare VAT returns.
* Populate monthly Management Information Packs in Excel.
* Perform balance sheet reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
* Post employment cost journals.
* Handle daily, weekly, and period banking activities.
* Supervise payroll, ensure timely and accurate processing, and manage HMRC filings.
* Manage the standard cost model and derive monthly cost of sales.
* Coordinate annual stocktakes with the UK operations team.
* Support various financial projects.
* Assist with audit queries during year-end processes.
* Develop strong relationships with finance team members and other departments.
* Support day-to-day financial activities, including weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting.
* Prepare year-end statutory accounts and audit packs.
* Manage recharges to group companies and daily bank transactions.
* Handle invoicing for each business.
* Update debtors list to ensure effective cash collection.
* Perform monthly consolidations and balance sheet reconciliations.
You:
* Experience in manufacturing industry.
* Hands-on approach.
* Ability to self-manage workload.
* Flexibility to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
* Confident in communicating at all levels and building relationships.
* Experience with Sage 300.
