Job Description:
We are recruiting System / Principal Engineers and Technical Directors for a growing Engineering Safety Consultancy with interests in Maritime, Naval, Nuclear, and Submarine sectors.
System Engineers – Mid-Level to Senior
The Senior Engineer will be responsible for delivery across complex, hazardous projects in highly regulated fields such as nuclear, maritime, aviation, or ordnance. Capable of working with minimal supervision, they will lead small teams and deliver complex technical projects. They should think strategically, applying their knowledge to new technical challenges while maintaining good partnerships and quality assurance.
Job Duties:
* Empower teams of engineers to deliver technical aspects of projects
* Work collaboratively with minimal supervision
* Undertake activities as directed by Technical Directors and Principal Engineers
* Conduct complex technical investigations
* Communicate project outcomes to stakeholders
* Provide technical guidance to peers
* Maintain excellent customer relations and quality assurance
The Principal Engineer will lead and deliver across complex, hazardous projects, managing talented teams of experienced engineers. They should be self-motivated, a Subject Matter Expert, and capable of strategic insight into the company's future direction.
Job Duties:
* Direct, supervise, motivate, and inspire staff
* Initiate and manage complex technical projects
* Provide guidance and development opportunities for engineers
* Use evidence to inform, negotiate, influence, and innovate
* Communicate proposals and project outcomes broadly
* Identify market opportunities and mitigate risks
Qualifications include at least a BEng degree with postgraduate knowledge, recognition as a Technical Expert, Chartered Engineer status with the UK Engineering Council, and membership of a UK Professional Engineering Institution.
Technical Director – Nuclear/Maritime/Aviation
The Technical Director will have senior management experience, strategic financial planning skills, and a proven track record in leading talented engineering teams in highly regulated fields. They should demonstrate strategic thinking, strong communication skills, and leadership capabilities to drive the company's growth.
Job Duties:
* Lead and organize staff activities and resources
* Provide leadership for business continuity
* Manage, challenge, and develop staff
* Influence strategic policies
* Collaborate with the Board of Directors
Qualifications include at least a BEng degree, postgraduate knowledge, recognized expertise, Chartered Engineer status, membership or fellowship of a UK Professional Engineering Institution, and over 15 years of experience in a regulated engineering discipline.
