Dacorum Community Dance
Fundraiser
Posted: 9 October
Offer description

We are seeking new Trustees to join our existing Board. You will be actively involved in supporting and overseeing the growth of our young and dynamic charity, and to contribute to the strategic direction and decisions of the organisation.

What difference will you make? We are in need of Trustees who can work hands on to help the charity grow. We are a small charity still in our infancy and need active support to push forward with all the opportunities that lie ahead of us. This role will take the lead in income generation, build a strategy, and apply to grants on behalf of the charity.

Dacorum Dance has been running since 2018. We are a community oriented dance group committed to enhancing physical activity, addressing social isolation, and promoting mental wellbeing through accessible and affordable dance programmes. We have a passion for creative activity that is proven to help build confidence and provide a sense of belonging, enabling people to fulfil their potential by encouraging positive change.

What are we looking for? We are looking for people from professional backgrounds in Fundraising and Grant Writing and someone who is a passionate and positive person who is keen to make a difference. We want hands-on Trustees who have the time and energy required to contribute meaningfully to the development of the organisation.

The ideal candidate will have:

* Commitment to and passion for Dacorum Dance and gender equality
* Willingness and reliability to devote the necessary time and effort
* Strategic vision
* Good, independent judgment
* Ability to think creatively
* Willingness to speak their mind
* Understanding and acceptance of the legal duties, responsibilities and liabilities of trusteeship
* Ability to work effectively as a member of a team
* Responsible, especially when handling sensitive and confidential information
* Be pro-active and support the operations of the Dacorum Dance

What will you be doing? We are particularly interested in candidates with professional backgrounds in Fundraising and Grant Writing and experience in one of the following areas; business development, communities, finance, governance, marketing & PR, and charity experience, and who have considerable experience of senior management.

Trustees are required to commit to a minimum term of 3 years, and to attend Board Meetings up to 4 times a year. Trustees will also have the opportunity to assist with strategy discussions, fundraising, press opportunities, one-to-one support, project visits, project celebration events and other activities on an ad-hoc basis.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a growing organisation and contribute your time, knowledge and expertise to make a difference to our mission of inspiring and supporting community dance experiences. Dacorum Dance operates in Dacroum, Herfordshire. Our vision is a world where everyone has access to a range of diverse dance, arts, and cultural opportunities.
