Overview Of The Role
We are seeking an experienced AGL Engineer to join our aviation team based in the UK. You will contribute to the design of AGL elements for Airport Engineering projects, including AGL, MAG signage layouts, pit and duct design, cabling, approach lighting, PAPI, HML, and more, following relevant design standards. The role also involves supporting senior engineers, preparing design projects, analysing baseline data, collaborating across disciplines, and contributing to feasible construction phasing and electrical design.
Responsibilities
* Support Senior and Principal Airfield Engineers in developing airport designs worldwide.
* Lead or support senior capacity in AGL and MAG design projects.
* Understand and apply design standards across civil and military domains.
* Analyse existing baseline, survey and as-built information.
* Design AGL and MAG for Runways, Taxiways, Aprons, service roads, etc.
* Produce Civil 3D design of AGL and MAG related assets.
* Coordinate AGL designs with other disciplines such as pavement and structural engineering.
* Produce specifications for AGL, MAG and HML works.
* Develop logical and efficient work phasing proposals for construction.
* Design electrical works and perform design reviews.
* Prepare methodologies, design proposals, resources estimation, and bid preparations.
* Visit airfields to monitor construction and produce progress reports.
Candidate Specification
* A degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
* The right to work in the UK.
* Fluency in English (other languages valued).
* Demonstrable professional experience in AGL, MAG and HML design.
