Hearing Aid Dispenser – Sheffield
Join OutsideClinic as a Hearing Aid Dispenser in Sheffield and surrounding areas. Positions available for weekdays only, no weekends. Compensation up to £40,000 per year plus monthly commission and a company car. Your job: provide audiological testing services to patients in their homes and selected in-store locations while supporting the NHS.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage a daily schedule of adults with hearing loss.
* Conduct Pure Tone Audiometry including masking, tests for non-organic hearing loss, and Noise Induced Hearing Loss.
* Take aural impressions and select appropriate ear moulds.
* Select, program, and fit hearing instruments.
* Provide comprehensive aftercare programme.
* Use outcome measures (subjective and objective) and Real Ear Measurement equipment.
* Commit to lifelong learning, keep equipment calibrated, and maintain ear care and wax removal.
* Adhere to infection control best practices.
Professional Responsibilities
* Meet the level of expertise required to register with the HCPC as a Hearing Aid Dispenser (training provided).
* Reflect on own practice with peers and management, identify strengths and development needs.
* Be responsible for own professional actions and recognise boundaries, seeking advice when needed.
* Contribute as part of a clinical team and discuss client needs with others.
* Attend appropriate supervision and training to maintain skills, expand scope of practice and comply with HCPC CPD requirements.
* Maintain CPD records acceptable to the HCPC.
* Understand principles of clinical governance and apply to professional practice in audiology.
* Ensure staff comply with Infection Control, Health and Safety, and Risk Management policies.
Your Skills & Experience
* Effective and flexible communicator to multiple parties.
* Use of digital systems and attention to detail.
* Confident driver with at least two years driving experience and ability to navigate multiple locations.
* Work calmly under pressure.
* Pragmatic approach to problem solving.
* Organised and able to multitask.
* Work within own clinical knowledge and limitations.
