Key information
* This is an office-based position at our Otterbourne location – remote or home working is not available.
* This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
* Fixed part-time rotas are available based on current service needs (see attached).
* We are welcoming new team members for upcoming training courses in October and November.
Main duties of the job
You do not need to have a medical background, just a desire to help. You'll need to be detailed and efficient, assertive but compassionate. Looking after yourself and caring for the team around you should also be a priority for you. We all contribute professionally to the wider team that we operate within here at SCAS, as we all have an important role to play in patient care.

Training and role development
We offer a full 6-week training program including NHS Pathways (the clinical assessment tool we use). After training, you will have the necessary skills to assess patient needs and provide the best possible care.
Pay and benefits
£11.70 per hour, with unsocial allowances in addition to the base rate. Current enhanced rates: weekends and night shifts as listed, on top of other NHS benefits. 27 days holiday plus bank holidays rising to 33 days (pro-rata for part time). Location and contract
Job locations: Otterbourne, SO21 2RU. Contract: Permanent. Working pattern: Part-time. Band: 3. Salary: £24,937 to £26,598 pro rata per annum.
Essential qualifications and training
* Good all-round education (e.g., 2 GCSEs at grade 4 or above including English), or equivalent demonstrable experience.
* For safeguarding reasons this role is open to people aged 18 or older.
Knowledge and experience
* Experience in a customer/patient services environment, dealing with the general public.
* Experience using computerised systems.
* Experience using a telephone as a regular means of communication in a work environment.
Desirable
* NHS Pathways Trained
* NVQ 2/3 Customer Services or equivalent demonstrable experience
* Experience in a call centre environment
* Geographical knowledge of the operational area
* Experience of working rotating shifts
* Experience in voluntary or health sectors; patient care; knowledge of first aid and/or anatomy
