This is a key position, carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across a number of site locations within a specified region.
To carry out planned and reactive maintenance and repairs to a range of electrical, mechanical and building assets in ASDA stores in an efficient and cost-effective manner, whilst complying with the specified Company Health and Safety procedures.
Responsibilities
* Represent the company in a professional manner at all times and develop a good working relationship with City and ASDA colleagues.
* Complete all necessary PPMs and ensure PPM remedial tasks are accurately logged and actioned, ensuring legal compliance.
* Supervise the Maintenance Assistant (MA), provide regular coaching and support them to perform their role in line with company processes.
* Respond promptly to service call requests from the Helpdesk and assess the requirements of the job to carry out repairs as required.
* Prioritise maintenance and repair work to achieve agreed timescales and contract SLAs.
* Communicate with ASDA Store Management teams and RES regarding repair and maintenance issues that may affect store operations.
* Carry out surveys and complete reports as required; perform alterations and installations within technical competence and current specifications.
* Complete general repairs and maintenance to ASDA store sites as designated by the RES (e.g., repairs to building fabric and surfaces).
* Assist other MSTs in other Stores/Regions when requested by the RES.
* Recruit and select suitably qualified and experienced MA to ensure continuous service delivery following company processes and policies.
* Maintain accurate administration, including City applications, live job recording and effective time utilisation.
* Attend training courses as necessary and ensure personal job skills keep pace with technical developments (which may include overnight stays).
* Comply with the company Health and Safety Policy at all times and ensure compliant documentation for allocated tasks is completed to required quality standards.
* Ensure team attends and completes all mandatory training, including induction programmes and eLearning modules within required timescales.
* Provide on-the-job coaching and technical coaching solutions to trainees, with active encouragement and support of learning.
* Complete induction and training administration, including probationary reviews, to ensure the team are fully competent and aware of performance.
* Participate in an Out of Hours standby rota (min 1 week in 4) and perform general repairs to plumbing systems and drainage during standby.
* Carry out first looks for equipment such as Fire and Security/HVAC/electrical and general issues.
* Comply with any other reasonable request or instruction from the RES or City Management Team.
Qualifications
Essential
* C&G 2382 (18th edition)
* Level 3 core Electrical qualification (examples: C&G2330, C&G2365 with relevant experience, or equivalent)
* 3 phase electrics and its applications
* Demonstrated behaviours: ability to manage and support team members; good written and verbal communication; customer focused; self-motivated
* Specialist requirements: current driving licence; ability to maintain/repair a range of electrical and mechanical equipment to recognised standards; general plumbing and building experience; ability to work with minimum supervision; ability to work at heights; willingness to work flexible hours
Desirable
* GCSE Standard
* Familiarity with completion of electrical certification
* City & Guilds 2391 Testing and Inspection
* Time served in electrical discipline or relevant industry experience
Specific Knowledge
* 3 phase electrics and its applications
