Site Engineer Job Description

Role and Responsibilities:
1. Provide site engineering duties within a designated geographical area, establishing levels and survey control in coordination with the Survey team, and setting out detailed works according to contract drawings with regular checks.
2. Assist the site management team in managing specific sections of work or subcontract packages.
3. Coordinate with client representatives and designers regarding design issues or changes.
4. Manage records of delivered materials to ensure compliance with specifications, including checks on subcontractor materials.
5. Perform setting-out checks for subcontractors.
6. Conduct quality checks in accordance with inspection and test plans, maintaining thorough records.
7. Maintain calibration documents and check registers for all site instruments, including subcontractor tools, and keep accurate records of excavations, concrete pours, reinforcement, etc., for communication with the commercial team.
8. Survey completed works to record as-built conditions.
9. Assist in drafting method statements, task briefings, and inspection and test plans.
10. Prioritize safety for yourself and others on site.
11. Collaborate with employers and others to fulfill statutory duties.
12. Adhere to Octavius Business Management System policies and procedures.

About You:
* Experience in infrastructure or civil works such as earthworks, structures, highways, drainage, or utilities.
* Experience working in a structured environment with other Section Engineers, subcontractors, and site management teams.
Your Skills and Qualifications:
* HNC/Degree in Construction or Civil Engineering or equivalent, with progress towards institute membership (ICE).
* Experience in setting out civil engineering projects and managing daily site activities.
* CSCS Card.
* First Aid Training.
