At CitiPower and Powercor, we’re proud to deliver electricity to over a million Victorian customers every day through our network of poles and wires. But more than that, we’re here to power communities, support local businesses and keep critical services running smoothly. We’re essential to them all – and none of this happens without our people.

About our Apprenticeship Program:

We are looking for Apprentice Lineworkers and Apprentice Cable Jointers to join us in February 2026!

Our Apprentice Lineworkers are responsible for constructing and maintaining overhead and underground electrical lines and structures. They will also respond to and rectify network faults to restore supply to our customers.

Our Apprentice Cable Jointers are involved with terminating and jointing electrical cables onto electrical equipment, installing and maintaining cables in underground conduits and trenches, and rectification of faults on the distribution system.

Our Apprentices must be willing to work outdoors, at heights and in all weather conditions.

Our four-year program sees our Apprentices:

* Be secure. Solid skills, real experience, and a future career that’s going places.
* Be trained. Earn a nationally recognised TAFE certification.
* Be supported. Great pay, valuable benefits and a 1:1 mentor to support your journey.
* Be valued. Feel supported from day one and grow as part of a wider team.
* Be hands-on. Build and learn practical skills from the best in the business.

If you want to be part of something essential, be essential with us earning:

* Certificate III – ESI Distribution Underground (Cable Jointer)

To be eligible to apply, you need to meet one of the following pre-requisites:

* Units 1 & 2 General Maths (Year 11 equivalent); or
* VCAL or VCE Vocational Major; or
* Currently completing (or completed) a pre-apprenticeship TAFE training course in Electrotechnology (Cert II)*.

*If you are currently completing a pre-requisite subject, you are eligible to apply, as long as it will be successfully completed by the end of the 2025 academic year.

We encourage candidates from all backgrounds to consider applying, whether you are leaving school, TAFE, have experience working in a different industry, or if perhaps you have decided university is not for you. We look for motivated individuals who want to be part of a team.

Your career with us:

Please note that you can submit only one application for our Apprentice intake. If you apply for multiple locations, we will only consider your first application.

For tips on our application process, watch this video where Neil walks you through what we're looking for when we read through your application.
