This is a temp-perm role starting in September 2025, offering a clear pathway to a permanent contract. You'll be teaching English across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (GCSE). This position is particularly suited to an Early Career Teacher (ECT), with a full induction provided based on the Early Career Framework. We are eager to find an exceptional English Teacher to join this team.
About The Role:
As an English Teacher, you'll be responsible for planning and delivering engaging and high-quality English lessons to students from Year 7 through to Year 11. You'll foster a love for literature, improve writing skills, and develop critical thinking. For an ECT, this role provides an excellent environment to grow and flourish with dedicated support and mentorship. This is a chance for a talented English Teacher to truly make a difference.
Responsibilities:
* Plan, prepare, and deliver inspiring English lessons to students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (GCSE).
* Assess, monitor, record, and report on student progress, providing constructive feedback.
* Create a positive and stimulating learning environment that encourages participation and academic growth.
* Contribute to the development of the English curriculum and departmental initiatives.
* Participate in departmental meetings, school events, and professional development opportunities.
* Foster strong relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
Requirements:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is desirable but NOT essential for this role. We welcome applications from talented individuals with relevant experience and a passion for teaching.
* A relevant degree in English, English Literature, or a related subject.
* Experience teaching English at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 in a UK secondary school.
* A strong understanding of the National Curriculum for English and GCSE specifications.
* Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to engage and motivate students.
* A genuine passion for English and a desire to inspire students.
* Strong communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
* Commitment to continuous professional development.
* An enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one.
