Main duties of the job

The department in Hull Royal Infirmary operates a subspecialist system of reporting serviced by teams of consultants. All areas of expertise will be considered. We can accommodate a combination of specialist interests in Gynaecology pathology, gastrointestinal (including pancreas), skin, head and neck, breast and urological pathology and non-gynaecological cytology.

The department has successfully introduced an in-house molecular testing service to support lung cancer, colorectal cancer and melanoma diagnostic pathways and have a strong dissection team supporting all of the specialties.

SHYPS is in partnership with the National Pathology Imaging Co-operative (NPIC) and seeks to implement and deploy digital pathology in the very near future.
