Job Description
New Directions Education is currently recruiting a caring, patient and committed SEND Teaching Assistant to work in a welcoming mainstream secondary school in Knowsley. The successful candidate will support pupils with a range of additional learning needs, helping to ensure they can access the curriculum and achieve their full potential.

The Role
4. Provide targeted support for pupils with additional learning needs, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and cognition & learning needs.
5. Work closely with the SENCO and classroom teachers to deliver personalised learning strategies and interventions.
6. Support pupils in mainstream lessons, helping them to understand tasks, stay engaged and develop independence.
7. Assist with implementing and reviewing pupil support plans and EHCP targets.
8. Promote positive behaviour and provide emotional and social support to pupils as needed.
9. Contribute to maintaining an inclusive learning environment where all pupils feel supported and confident.
The Ideal Candidate
10. Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (essential).
11. Previous experience supporting pupils with SEND in a school setting (essential).
12. Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with young people.
13. A calm, compassionate approach and the ability to respond effectively to a range of needs.
14. A First Aid qualification (desirable).
15. Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check and provide recent employment references.
