Our esteemed client, a trusted partner of the UK's Ministry of Defence, is seeking a seasoned Manufacturing Bid Lead. This role involves leading bid initiatives within the manufacturing sector, ensuring clear scope definition in the Bid Directive, and aligning content with the manufacturing industrial policy.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide consultancy to programme teams on Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) requirements under MoD and international defence contracts.
* Interpret DEFCONs, DEFSTAN 05-099, and related clauses, advising stakeholders on contractual obligations and risk exposure.
* Ensure compliance with government policy, export control, and security regulations in the handling and use of GFE.
* Develop and enhance GFE management processes, tools, and training materials for consistent application across MBDA UK.
* Conduct internal audits and readiness reviews to assure GFE compliance ahead of customer inspections.
* Recommend system and process improvements to strengthen GFE accountability and traceability.
* Support programmes in planning for the receipt, allocation, utilisation, return, or disposal of GFE.
* Provide expert input during contract negotiations and change proposals involving GFE.
* Engage with MoD to resolve GFE discrepancies, loss, or damage, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
* Advise on GFE reporting, develop KPIs, and support governance through accurate status updates and performance metrics.
What do you need?:
* Extensive experience in GFE and asset management within the defence and aerospace sectors.
* Strong working knowledge of MoD contractual frameworks including DEFCON 23, 611, 694, and 76.
* Proven ability to advise on contractual and regulatory compliance in government and defence environments.
* Skilled in using ERP and asset management systems such as SAP, alongside data reporting tools.
* Effective stakeholder engagement, with excellent communication and influencing capabilities.
* Analytical mindset with a focus on identifying risks, resolving issues, and driving improvements.
* Eligible for UK Security Clearance (minimum SC level).
* Holds or working towards professional qualifications in Supply Chain, Asset Management, or Contract Management (e.g., CIPS, APICS, IACCM).
* Experienced in audit and compliance activities, including ISO standards and MoD audits.
* Familiar with international defence contracting and continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean and Six Sigma.
