Year 1 Teacher – Wigan
Contract: Full-Time, Temporary with the potential for a permanent position

Salary: Pay-To-Scale (Dependent on experience)
A welcoming and inclusive primary school in the WN3 area is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Year 1 Teacher to join their team from September 2025. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a supportive environment where staff are committed to nurturing every child’s academic and personal growth.
The successful candidate will create engaging and inspiring lessons that meet the needs of all learners, fostering a love of learning while supporting children through the important transition from the Early Years Foundation Stage into Key Stage 1.
Key Responsibilities:
* Plan and deliver creative lessons in line with the KS1 curriculum.
* Support pupils’ progress in phonics, early reading, writing, and mathematics.
* Monitor, assess, and record pupil progress, adapting teaching where needed.
* Establish a positive and stimulating classroom environment.
Requirements:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
* Recent teaching experience in Key Stage 1 (Year 1 experience desirable).
* Strong knowledge of the national curriculum and phonics schemes (e.g., Read Write Inc).
* Excellent classroom management and organisational skills.
* A nurturing, creative, and flexible approach to teaching.
