Job Title: Monitoring OperativeDepartment: Remote Monitoring ServicesLocation: BatleySalary: £28,000 - £32,000 DOE.
OverviewWe are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Monitoring Operative to support the delivery of high-quality monitoring services to a diverse customer base. This role involves maintaining operational standards in line with Gold Standard accreditation, ensuring compliance with internal processes and client requirements. The team handles a variety of services, including VSS and intruder monitoring, remote concierge, customer telephony support, and administrative duties essential to service continuity.
Key Responsibilities
* Take ownership of personal performance, development, and communication.
* Respond to alarms from client sites in accordance with established procedures.
* Handle inbound calls from internal and external stakeholders professionally and efficiently.
* Log service calls in the internal system for engineer assignment.
* Conduct thorough shift handovers with accurate and relevant information.
* Perform daily and weekly checks, promptly reporting any non-compliance issues.
* Maintain an in-depth knowledge of emergency strategies and business recovery plans.
* Deliver operational and emergency procedure training to colleagues.
* Keep Sentinel updated with site information, schedules, keyholder details, and connection data.
* Identify and propose service improvements in line with departmental objectives.
* Carry out additional duties as directed by management.
Role Progression Framework
Grade 1 Operative – Completion of probationary and induction training.Grade 2 Operative – Demonstrated competence in all monitoring duties, working independently.Grade 3 Operative – Able to train others, retrieve technical data from Sentinel, and demonstrate full knowledge of emergency procedures.Grade 4 Operative – Capable of updating keyholder and system data, making technical changes to VSS systems, and identifying improvements or set-up issues for escalation.
