Manufacturing, Operations and Production
Trident Seafoods is the largest vertically integrated seafood harvesting and processing company in North America. Summary
Dock leads Assist the Dock Foreperson in coordination of deliveries and relevant operations, and monitoring activities of workers engaged in dock work activities by performing the following duties
Key Responsibilities
* Leads in one or more sections of dock area pertaining to training, quality, workmanship, productivity, recovery, sanitation, and employee practices.
* Ensures proper use of protective gear, safe operation of machinery, and safe use of chemical cleaning agents.
* Reports continuing performance and attendance issues to supervisor.
* Receives and answers questions from workers pertaining to dock area processes or equipment operation.
* Monitors and expedites flow of materials within the dock area and makes adjustments when necessary.
* Notifies foreperson of equipment malfunctions.
* Tends or operates machines or equipment in the dock area to substitute for absentee workers.
* Maintains workflow records and documents as necessary.
* Assures compliance with all safety and dock work practices.
* Trains workers in equipment operation and in safety procedures.
* Communicates with Supervisors, and other Lead personnel any problems or concerns.
* Performs activities of workers supervised.
* Dock Leads may be assigned duties and tasks same as dock workers and keys as needed.
* Operates Crane, forklift, and other equipment with appropriate operators’ licenses.
* Identify all incoming fish and properly segregate according to species, grade, size, color.
* Coordinate segregation by species to facility fish bins/RSW
Additional Responsibilities
* Performs other similar or related duties as requested or assigned.
* Actively participates in safety policies, activities and implementations.
* Assist Quality Control Tech if necessary
* Oversees and directs dock workers and keys as assigned.
* Assists Dock foreperson with all relevant dock operations.
* Assists with training of dock workers and keys.
Employees working in Alaska are advised to have medical insurance coverage which is valid in the State of Alaska.
Must be a current Trident Seafoods employee or have worked for Trident Seafoods before
* Has worked in a Key position at a Trident location in the past year
Preferred Qualifications
* Forklift, crane, and other applicable operators’ licenses
Special Training/Skills
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance. To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of email, spreadsheet software, word processing software and presentation software.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee moves objects.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and extreme cold. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
