We are looking for a motivated and experienced Physiotherapist as Joint Team Lead Physiotherapist in the Acute Admissions Team for our Front Door areas, managing a small team and being part of a wider supportive Physiotherapy department. Our Front Door Therapy Services are moving towards a more sustainable, integrated workforce model to manage the complex needs of our patients. The current vacancy sits on the Emergency Floor at St. Richard's Hospital Chichester with the expectation of also supporting service provision in Accident and Emergency. It offers a great opportunity for professional development with very different clinical experiences every day.
The service is currently provided Monday- Friday with the expectation to participate in the Physiotherapy out of hours weekend services as additional hours. However, Front Door Therapy services will be moving to 7-day provision soon and the expectation would then be to work your contracted hours over 7 days.
We are looking for a dynamic individual who can think on their feet, has good clinical reasoning, prioritising and discharge planning skills, is confident in positive risk taking, has excellent prioritising skills and is able to solve problems to get the best outcome for patients. You will be responsible for providing a high standard of acute respiratory assessments, functional mobility assessments, advice, treatment and evaluation of patients referred to the Front Door Service.
Main duties of the job
Role Summary: Undertake a Joint Team Leader role in planning, coordinating, delivering and evaluating the Therapy Service provided to the Front Door areas. To take a lead role in the advanced Physiotherapy assessment and treatment of patients in acute admissions environments who may have highly complex and / or chronic Medical and Surgical presentation, and to determine clinical diagnoses and Physiotherapy/Therapy treatment indicated, and to maintain records as an autonomous practitioner. To take a lead role in the on-going education and training of other members of Physiotherapy team, the wider health care team and Physiotherapy students in the therapy management of patients within Acute Admissions environments. To plan and anticipate changing service demands within current resources and to work with the Therapy Lead and Physiotherapy Operational lead at St Richard’s Hospital and other Specialty leads on service development and redesign of therapy service. To participate in the Physiotherapy out of hours services To be available to work across a seven-day period when required.
