Job Title:HR Advisor Report to:HR Manager Location:Strabane, Co. Tyrone Main Purpose of Job: To provide expert guidance and support to managers and employees on HR policies, procedures, and employment law, handling complex employee relations (disciplinary, grievance, absence), recruitment, performance management, and onboarding, while also helping implement HR strategies and maintain HR systems. Key Tasks: Employee Relations (ER):Manage casework including disciplinary actions, grievances, conflict resolution, and sickness absence. Provide impartial advice to managers during formal hearings. Policy & Compliance: Develop, implement, and update HR policies to ensure alignment with current employment legislation and best practices. Recruitment & Onboarding: Support the end-to-end recruitment process, including drafting job descriptions, conducting interviews, and managing new starter inductions. Management Coaching: Advise and coach line managers on effective people management techniques, such as performance appraisals and handling sensitive employee issues. HR Data & Reporting: Maintain accurate employee records in Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) and analyse key performance indicators (KPIs) like turnover and absence rates to inform strategic decisions. Training & Development: Identify workforce training needs and coordinate or deliver learning programs to enhance employee skills. Person Specification: The successful candidate for this role will be able to demonstrate that they can meet the following essential requirements. An ability to meet the desirable requirements will also be advantageous. Essential At least two years HR generalist experience in an advisory capacity - CIPD qualified. Strong working knowledge of employment law and HR best practice. Able to demonstrate a high level of accuracy. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to build trust and credibility across all levels of the business Proactive and solutions-focused with a hands-on approach Well organised with strong attention to detail and accuracy. Discreet and able to handle sensitive information with confidentiality. Excellent organisational skills. Computer literate (proficient in Office 365, Word, Outlook and Excel) Desirable CIPD level 5 qualification or working towards this qualification.
