Temporary vacancy – Accounts Assistant
Location: Cambridge, CB3 (one day per week from home)
Duration: 6 months
Rate: £14 (£15.69 including holiday pay) per hour PAYE
Hours: 5 hours per day Monday to Friday. (25 hours per week)
Reporting to the Head of Finance, and taking instruction from the Management Accountant, the role-holder will ensure that all purchasing adheres to best practice and guidelines.
Responsibilities
* Processing of invoices to financial system on timely basis while checking the supporting documentation is in order (purchase order, delivery note, authorisation, etc). Approximately 130 invoices a week, but this varies month to month.
* Reconcile supplier statements and resolve supplier queries.
* Process payment runs in accordance with policies.
* Processes corporate card expenses reviewing expenses in line with policy.
* Maintain prepayment and accrual records for Management Accountant.
* Maintain approved suppliers list and process new account applications.
Ideally it would suit someone experience in purchase ledger who can pick things up quickly.
Due to the urgency of the positon, we will only consider candidates who are available for a start on the 30th June.
