About the role
At Transcend Retail Solutions, we help retailers around the world grow their online grocery businesses using the same technology that powers Tesco’s £8bn e-commerce platform. We’re part of the Tesco family but work like a startup — fast-moving, collaborative, and driven by impact.
As a Lead Product Manager, you’ll help shape the strategy behind our most important products and lead a small team of Product Managers. You’ll work across teams to turn big ideas into real solutions that create value for our retail partners, their customers, and our colleagues.
Within the Transcend team, you will be joining our efforts in developing relationships with our retailer partners. This will include some travel to visit our retailers directly or to meet them at industry conferences.
You will be responsible for
* Evolving and driving the product vision, strategy, and the long-term roadmap.
* Proactively partnering with peers and senior stakeholders (internally and externally) to set the future direction of our products as part of the wider Transcend strategy.
* Understanding key user personas, customers & stakeholders for the products and their pain points.
* Being accountable for the performance and adoption of the product (including sales performance to our retail partners), working towards achieving the Outcomes and Key Results (OKRs).
* Prioritising work and resolving trade-offs with peers and senior leaders; navigating competing priorities set by our retail partners.
* Effectively documenting and explaining new requirements to the engineering team using user stories with acceptance criteria and helping the team break down complex work into smaller, deliverable chunks of value.
* Steering sprint/release planning sessions by working with engineering counterparts. Planning sprints/releases that deliver maximum business value with minimal effort.
* Driving the acceptance and adoption of ideas and improvements with product teams and engineering stakeholders.
* Prioritising, coordinating, and communicating the resolution of live product issues independently.
* Providing leadership and direction to cross-functional teams on short-term tasks and near-term priorities.
* Identifying and removing impediments faced by the team; proactively flagging any risks or delays in commitments.
* Building and nurturing a great team of Product Managers for your products, based on business needs, strategic priorities, and focus level.
* Empowering and developing your team to continually deliver value.
You will need
* A track record of launching and improving digital products in fast-paced environments.
* Experience managing or mentoring product managers.
* Strong communication skills — you can explain the “why” as well as the “what.”
* Understanding concepts of machine learning and AI to products you create, working with data scientists and engineers to deliver value through product.
* Strong understanding of UX/UI disciplines and principles.
