Our client, a leading national legal services provider, is seeking an experienced Clinical Negligence Associate to join their established Healthcare team in Manchester. Your new role
As an Associate within the Healthcare team, you will:
\t
* Manage a varied caseload of complex and high‑value defendant clinical negligence claims from instruction through to resolution.
\t
* Provide high‑quality legal advice on clinical negligence matters, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating key case documentation.
\t
* Undertake thorough legal research and analysis to inform case strategy and strengthen decision‑making.
\t
* Draft and review pleadings, witness statements, and detailed correspondence.
\t
* Liaise with clients, medical professionals, experts, and counsel to gather evidence, progress cases, and maintain effective communication.
\t
* Attend court hearings, mediations, case conferences, and settlement meetings as required.
\t
* Maintain accurate, organised, and up‑to‑date case files.
\t
* Work collaboratively with colleagues within the wider Healthcare team to deliver excellent client service.
\t
* Identify and contribute to business development opportunities with key healthcare clients.
\t
* Support client care initiatives for NHS and Trust‑based clients.
\t
* Provide supervision, guidance, and mentoring to junior team members where appropriate.
What you'll need to succeed
\t
* Qualified solicitor or CILEX with full litigation rights (essential).
\t
* 3-6 years' PQE with significant experience in NHS Resolution defendant clinical negligence cases (essential).
\t
* Proven track record managing complex and high‑value defendant clinical negligence files.
\t
* Experience in Group Litigation is advantageous.
\t
* Strong drafting, negotiation, and advocacy skills.
\t
* Ability to manage a high-volume caseload independently and efficiently.
\t
* Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
\t
* Outstanding communication, client‑handling, and interpersonal skills.
\t
* Proficiency with legal research tools and case management systems.
\t
* High levels of professionalism, integrity, and attention to detail.
\t
* Experience supervising or supporting the development of junior colleagues.
