* Housing Officer
Location: Nottingham/Nottinghamshire
Contract: Full-Time, temporary for 6 months with possible 3 month extension
Salary: Competitive
Hours: 37 hours per week (with on-call duties outside normal working hours)



About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Housing Officer to join a growing Housing and Tenancy Support Service supporting women and children fleeing domestic abuse. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a new service providing dispersed refuge accommodation across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire.

* Key Responsibilities of a Housing Officer

o Provide one-to-one, person-centred support to tenants in dispersed properties.

o Complete support plans and risk assessments, considering immediate needs and long-term goals.

o Assist service users in identifying goals and tracking progress using tools like the Outcome Star.

o Visit tenants regularly to assess support and tenancy management needs.

o Signpost and refer individuals to specialist services as required.

o Promote engagement with housing monitoring tools (e.g. Housing Proactive).

o Maintain accurate and timely records of tenant interaction and progress.

o Coordinate property maintenance, refurbishments, and handovers.

o Liaise with landlords, suppliers, and contractors, managing disputes and ensuring value for money.

o Monitor and maintain health & safety and compliance standards in properties.

o Contribute to service development, inter-agency meetings, and performance reporting.


What We're Looking For

o Experience supporting vulnerable people as a Housing Officer, ideally within a housing or domestic abuse context.

o Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

o Knowledge of tenancy rights and housing regulations is desirable.

o A collaborative approach and excellent interpersonal skills.

o Confidence in lone working and decision-making.

o Willingness to be part of an on-call rota outside of normal hours.

o Commitment to safeguarding and equality in all aspects of the work.

* Additional Information

o A full driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential.

o Experience working as a Housing Officer.
o The post is subject to an enhanced DBS check.

o Travel across Nottingham/Nottinghamshire will be required.
