Maintenance Engineer – Mechanical & Electrical
Location: Salisbury
Salary: £45,000 – £52,000 DOE + excellent benefits
Hours: 28-day shift cycle (days and nights)

The role of Maintenance Engineer is varied, hands-on, and rewarding. You’ll work across planned preventative maintenance, urgent breakdowns, and improvement projects, covering a wide range of systems including hydraulics, pneumatics, PLCs, and automated machinery. This is an excellent opening for a Maintenance Engineer who enjoys problem solving and thrives in a fast-paced environment.

What you’ll be doing:
* Carry out both planned and reactive maintenance on mechanical and electrical systems
* Ensure production reliability by responding quickly to breakdowns and faults
* Perform calibration checks and portable appliance testing (PAT)
* Support process improvements, machinery upgrades, and new equipment installations
* Identify and recommend improvements to plant, machinery, and systems to boost safety, quality, and efficiency
* Work safely at all times, adhering to health, safety, and environmental standards
Experience & Qualifications
* Time-served apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering with a Level 3 Electrical qualification
* Proven experience in electrical and/or mechanical maintenance
* Strong knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, inverters, and PLCs
* Experience in automated process environments desirable
* Familiarity with PAT testing, LOLER, and functional safety standards is an advantage
Working shift pattern for this role is a 28-day cycle – 4 on, 5 off, 5 on, 4 off, 5 on, 5 off (rotating between days and nights)
