We’re looking for a UK HEAD OF REGULATORY COMPLIANCE
The UK Head of Regulatory Compliance will be a strategic and hands-on senior member responsible for ensuring iwoca’s compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, fostering a strong compliance culture, and advising senior stakeholders. In the first 12 months, you will play a key role in iwoca obtaining UK payments authorization. Reporting to the Head of Legal, this role is vital in ensuring regulatory adherence.

Your mission
1. Obtaining UK payments authorization:
o Manage the application process for becoming an authorized UK payments institution, including liaising with the FCA and coordinating internal contributions.
o Engage with regulatory bodies, including interviews and representations.
o Handle future regulatory applications in the UK, Germany, and other jurisdictions.
2. Regulatory Compliance management:
o Oversee compliance with UK regulations, FCA guidance, data protection laws, and industry standards.
o Monitor industry developments and conduct risk assessments.
o Implement compliance monitoring and mitigation strategies.
3. Policy Development:
o Develop and maintain compliance policies aligned with regulatory standards and company culture.
4. Advisory and Stakeholder Engagement:
o Advise leadership on compliance risks and strategies.
o Provide regulatory guidance on new products and operational changes.
5. Regulatory Relationships:
o Maintain relationships with regulatory bodies and industry groups.
o Engage with industry forums and stay informed on emerging risks and standards.
6. Team Leadership and Collaboration:
o Lead and support the Compliance team, including GDPR compliance efforts.
o Collaborate with Legal, Technology, Analytics, Operations, and Product teams to integrate compliance considerations.
o Report regulatory risks to the Risk Committee regularly.
Requirements
* 5+ years in a senior compliance role within fintech, lending, or financial services.
* Experience managing card compliance programs within an EMI or similar regulated entity is advantageous.
* Meet FCA fitness and propriety standards for a PSD individual.
* Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret and explain regulatory guidance.
* Relevant industry certifications (e.g., ICA).
