Role: AFS Warehouse Operative
Location: Birmingham (SCC operate hybrid working, which comprises of a mix of office and home working)
Contract Type: Permanent
Salary Package: £23,907 plus large company benefits, a broad flexible benefits scheme, and 2 paid-for volunteering days a year
Hours: 9.00 am – 5.30 pm Monday – Friday

Role purpose
To process the defective stock from engineers which may be customer or SCC owned through the repair centre or back into the stores team. Create RMAs (return merchandise authorization) when required. For repair, Repair and return or Unused process.
Security clearance or the willingness to apply will be required for this role.
Key responsibilities
* Unloading Vehicles: All team members have manual handling training to use the correct MHE and PPE when using loading bays. Use pallet trucks and trolleys safely to move items, including two-man lifts.
* Manifested returns: Manage couriers with manifests, verify deliveries, and escalate issues. Check if boxes are open and verify the returning reference.
* Systematic checks: Use system (D365) to add estimated return dates; goods-in handles defective returns; good products go to stores for verification.
* RMA Transfers: Verify product make, model, serial number and asset if applicable; transfer to the correct bin. Fast-moving products go to the repair centre; slow-moving products to the Warehouse defective holding area.
* Repair centre work order: After verification and using the logistics stock report, create a Repair work order and an RMA processing sheet with serial numbers.
* Damages: Conduct thorough inspections, document damages, and communicate findings with photos where relevant.
* Configuration process: Defective imaged units go through a Configuration Warranty process; new product setup with the appropriate suffix (CFG) and sent to repair centre; repair work order aligns engineers time and process.
* Engineer Returns: Ensure return labels and relevant documentation (Warranty Labels) are included to process items efficiently.
Skills and experience
* Attention to Detail: Ability to conduct inventory audits and reconcile discrepancies with accuracy to ensure integrity of inventory records.
* Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication to interact with stakeholders and present data insights.
* Timely updates: Provide clear, timely updates throughout the work order process to aid coordination.
* RMA processes: Knowledge of typical procedures starting with customer RMAs, including issuing unique RMAs, providing shipping instructions, and determining appropriate resolutions (repair, replacement, or refund) based on inspection and warranty terms.
