Associate/Senior Associate - Court of Protection role based in Birmingham. We’re a national law firm with a local reach, focused on helping individuals and businesses navigate life’s ups and downs in a friendly, inclusive environment.
What You'll Be Doing
The Court of Protection is the judicial body responsible for making decisions relating to the management of finances and other affairs of individuals who lack the mental capacity to do so themselves. You will join a dedicated team that specialises in all matters relating to the Court of Protection and will manage a number of high value and/or complex cases. You will also take on leadership duties for a small team, including coaching, mentoring, goal setting and employee relations. You’ll lead on client work and proactively undertake business development activities to support Partners in growing the business and delivering excellent client service.
About You
We are looking for an Associate/Senior Associate with a personable nature, who thinks critically, enjoys solving problems, has a passion for Court of Protection matters and wants to lead a small team. Our ideal candidate will have the following:
* Qualified lawyer either via traditional SRA route or CILEX;
* The ability to effectively supervise and lead small teams to success;
* An aptitude for business development and a passion for growing strong client and referrer relationships;
* The ability to manage complex caseloads whilst maintaining attention to detail and a seamless service for clients;
* Demonstratable technical experience gained within Court of Protection and an understanding of the litigation process OR;
* Demonstratable technical experience gained within Private Clients with a deep understanding of LPAs and COP deputyships.
