Deputy Credit Manager - Permanent - Port Talbot
Hays Non-Qualified Finance are currently recruiting for a Deputy Credit Manager on behalf of an established and market-leading organisation, based in Port Talbot within their Wales & West region.This is a fantastic opportunity to join a privately owned business that is a recognised leader in their market. The role offers exposure to a regional operation with multiple centres and clear opportunities to make an impact. We are looking for someone with strong experience in commercial credit or senior credit control, who can take a hands-on and proactive approach to their work. The successful candidate will support the Regional Credit Manager and help lead a team, while ensuring effective control of credit risk across the region. Key responsibilities and experience required include:
* Supporting the management and development of the Regional Credit Office team
* Evaluating new credit applications and reviewing existing credit risk
* Building strong relationships with profit centre managers and key customer contacts
* Providing expert credit advice and guidance to branches
* Supporting credit control processes, including debt recovery where required
* Acting as a key point of leadership in the absence of the Regional Credit Manager
The role requires strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills, along with the ability to manage and develop a team. Candidates should be confident working in a fast-paced, commercially focused environment.A finance or accountancy qualification (or degree) would be desirable, along with knowledge of balance sheet appraisal techniques, though training can be provided.
