Flexibility is essential, as this is a 24-hour service and shifts may be required at any time. About Us The Role We’re seeking compassionate and committed Relief Accommodation Workers to join our team at Batt House in Bury St Edmunds. In this role, you’ll provide essential support to our Accommodation Team, helping young people thrive in a safe and nurturing environment. This is a flexible, as-and-when-required position, with both day and night shifts available. As a Relief Accommodation Worker, you’ll play a key part in maintaining the highest standards of care and support, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere for the young people in our accommodation. Your presence will make a real difference, offering consistency, care, and encouragement as they work toward a brighter future. Key Responsibilities Provide day-to-day support for young people, offering supervision, guidance, and encouragement as needed. Create and maintain a caring, supportive environment that promotes well-being, independence, and personal development. Uphold high standards of professional practice, ensuring the safety, comfort, and dignity of all residents. Work collaboratively with the team to ensure the smooth operation of the accommodation service and meet the individual needs of young people Please refer to the job description on our website. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to deliver excellent face-to-face care and support. A clear understanding of confidentiality and a commitment to safeguarding privacy. A respectful, non-judgemental approach that values diversity and individuality. Confidence and positivity when engaging with young people. The ability to stay calm under pressure and manage challenging situations effectively. Basic computer skills for administrative tasks and communication. A cheerful, optimistic attitude, even on the toughest days. A collaborative team player who works well with others to achieve shared goals. In accordance with safer recruitment processes many of the roles we recruit for require successful candidates to undertake an appropriate criminal record background check. If an offer of work is accepted, YMCA Trinity Group will facilitate these checks on behalf of our staff and volunteers via the Disclosure and Barring Service. Days and hours Various shifts are available, on and an as and when required basis. Our teams work 7 days a week, day, evening and nights shifts. What we offer Salary is £12.71 per hour.
