Job Description: Working as part of the commercial team and reporting to a Commercial Manager, working on a high-rise build to rent project, the duties would include assisting with the following:
* Client valuations including thorough measurement as work progresses, through to final account
* Cash flow forecasts and monitoring against programme
* Accurate valuation, forecasting and monitoring of site Preliminaries
* Ensure full recovery and valuation of variations/instructions
* Provision of timely and accurate documentation, warranties and the like, both internally and externally
* Ensuring that the procurement of subcontractors is undertaken in a timely and cost-effective manner
* Administration of subcontractor contracts and accounts
* Ensuring that payments/notices are issued in accordance with the Subcontract and Construction Act
* Timely production of subcontract final accounts, including re-measurement and valuation of all variations as necessary to facilitate the optimum result
* Keep the Managing Surveyor informed of the progress of both client and subcontractor accounts through to their finalisation, including the release of retentions
* Compile monthly Cost/Value reconciliations and forecasts, including future risks and opportunities, and present to the senior management team
* Ensure any commercial threats to projects are identified swiftly and communicated to the Managing Surveyor and all contractual notices are issued correctly and on time
* Attend meetings and ensure that surveying information and cost advice is provided in an accurate, timely and proficient manner
Requirements
* Surveying Degree or an equivalent qualification/experience
* Experience of working for a Main Contractor
* Design and build experience, ideally with JCT contracts.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Experienced in commercially managing large scale projects
* Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
