We are looking for a proactive and results-driven Buyer to join our dynamic Purchasing Department within this global manufacturer of specialist equipment. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of a defined supplier portfolio, mainly supplying components for general assembly, within a fast-paced and evolving supply chain environment.

Key Responsibilities
1. Manage supply chain deliveries in line with ERP system requirements.
2. Work closely with suppliers to maintain high product quality and resolve issues swiftly.
3. Source and negotiate new components to support new product introduction and machine development.
4. Identify and implement cost reduction opportunities and drive supply chain efficiencies.
5. Support the development of suppliers and commodity strategies.
6. Maintain accurate supplier records to ensure compliance with ISO standards and business procedures.
7. Ensure adherence to regulatory and trade compliance (e.g., Preferential Origin, CBAM, UK/EU Sanctions).
8. Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate supply chain risks.
Essential Skills and Experience
1. CIPS certification or equivalent professional purchasing qualification (desirable).
2. Strong IT skills, particularly in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and ERP systems.
3. Good understanding of manufacturing environments and processes.
4. Knowledge of compliance requirements within a global supply chain.
5. Ability to build and manage strong supplier relationships.
6. Skilled in cost analysis, negotiation, and commercial decision-making.
7. Excellent planning, communication, and leadership skills.
8. Capable of strategic thinking and embracing change.
9. Proven ability to plan, schedule, and execute effectively in line with business priorities.
