Title: Rail Project Manager
Salary: Up to £65k ~ some flexibility.
Location: Holborn ~ 3 days in office weekly
Overview:
La Fosse has partnered with an international, market-leading media, broadcasting, and outdoor organization, seeking an experienced Project Manager to deliver complex projects within a £200 million infrastructure programme for a Transportation client.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Manage and deliver projects within budget, scope, and safety standards, complying with CDM regulations 2015.
2. Create detailed project plans including budgets, timelines, and resource allocation.
3. Guide Project Managers through all project phases, from scoping and design to construction and commissioning.
4. Conduct risk assessments, develop mitigation plans, and resolve project issues.
5. Supervise contractors to ensure adherence to scope, specifications, and safety standards.
6. Lead budgeting and forecasting for CAPEX projects, ensuring expenditures remain within limits.
7. Collaborate with finance and procurement teams to optimize costs, negotiate contracts, and oversee contractor performance.
8. Coordinate with various departments to align project objectives.
9. Act as the main contact for stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and collaboration.
10. Manage contractor relationships to ensure compliance with standards.
11. Ensure projects adhere to regulatory, safety, and environmental standards, and company policies.
12. Implement quality control and assurance processes.
13. Conduct post-project reviews for lessons learned and improvements.
14. Maintain detailed project records and provide regular updates to senior management.
15. Oversee project closeout documentation and transition to operations.
Experience Needed:
1. 5+ years of managing rail projects.
2. Experience operating within construction contract frameworks such as NEC, JCT, CCN.
3. Proven track record in delivering construction, installation, and commissioning projects, preferably on roadside, highway, or rail.
4. Experience managing contractors and suppliers within NEC3/4 or similar environments.
5. Knowledge of CDM regulations 2015 and safety management practices.
6. Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office, Primavera P6, and document management systems like ASite.
7. Experience leading Project Managers and direct reports.
