Prospero Teaching is looking for an EAL tutor capable of delivering bespoke 1:1 sessions for young people requiring support in learning English as an Additional Language in your area.
The Opportunity
We seek educators passionate about transforming the lives of Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children, as well as disengaged, at-risk, and vulnerable learners. Prospero Teaching offers support through our consultants and Training and Development Team.
Our ideal EAL tutors are eager to work with children and young people with diverse learning needs in a creative, flexible, holistic, and trauma-informed manner to increase engagement and significantly improve their educational outlook.
The successful candidate will possess excellent teaching skills both in classroom settings and when delivering innovative, engaging 1:1 lessons. A passion for helping learners from various backgrounds develop their English language skills is essential.

* Location – Corsham
* Type of work – Contract
* Duration – Until sufficient progress is achieved
* Contract type – Temporary
* Full-time/Part-time – Part-time (dependent on pupils' needs)
* Minimum rate of pay – £25 per hour
* Hours – Flexible, depending on pupil availability during the school day
Experience, Training, and Qualifications
* ESOL qualification, TEFL, or CELTA
* At least 1 year of EAL tutoring experience
* Confidence in teaching UASC
* Ability to provide a firm but fair approach
* Recent safeguarding training or willingness to undertake Prospero’s course
Eligibility Requirements
* Right to work in the UK
* Enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the update service or willingness to apply for a new one
* Two professional child-related references
