Totus Neurorehabilitation is a community neurorehabilitation service in South West England and South Wales. We support children and young people with acquired brain injury and neurological conditions through assessment and rehabilitation in homes, schools, and remote settings.
Position
Paediatric Occupational Therapist – Community Neurorehabilitation
Location: Community (client homes, clinics, remote work)
Hours: Based on individual client funding; part‑time suitable for NHS practitioners.
Reporting to: Paediatric Service Lead; accountable to Totus Neurorehabilitation Ltd Directors.
Main Responsibilities
* Work within an interdisciplinary team (neuropsychologists, physiotherapists, speech and language therapists, etc.) to provide evidence‑based brain injury rehabilitation.
* Manage an autonomous caseload, including comprehensive OT assessments of functional, cognitive and sensory needs.
* Develop, implement and evaluate individualized treatment plans that support participation, independence, school engagement, play, leisure and transitions.
* Deliver therapy in varied settings: client homes, education settings, community and remotely.
* Use evidence‑based interventions (cognitive rehabilitation, fatigue management, upper limb rehabilitation, vocational rehabilitation).
* Conduct risk assessments, ensure infection and safeguarding procedures, and maintain accurate clinical records.
* Provide education and guidance to clients, families, schools and care teams.
* Write detailed reports and goal plans for the multidisciplinary team.
* Contribute to quality improvement, data collection and protocol development.
Qualifications & Experience
* Recognised degree in Occupational Therapy.
* HCPC registration and membership of RCOT.
* Post‑qualification experience in paediatrics, neurology, rehabilitation or community settings.
* Knowledge of paediatric OT assessment and treatment for neurological clients.
* Training in safeguarding, paediatric assessment tools and family‑centred practice.
* Experience with cognitive rehabilitation, assistive equipment and educational adaptations.
* Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams.
* Valid UK driving licence and own vehicle for travel; willingness to travel across regions.
* Indemnity insurance, DBS certificate and ICO registration.

* Strong clinical reasoning, planning and time‑management.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal and documentation skills.
* IT skills: Microsoft Office, emailing, journal searching, cloud software.
* Ability to adjust intervention approaches to developmental stages.
* Experience with outcome measures (e.g., COPM, MoCA, GAS).
