We have an opportunity for highly motivated undergraduates to join the Purchasing team at our Bishopstoke site. This will be a 12-month placement commencing summer 2026.
It is a requirement that you are currently undertaking a Bachelor degree and looking to support your learning and development path.
Every day is different and varied. You will be in charge of a wide range of different projects.
Typical tasks may include:
1. Assist the expansion of our ‘Business-to-Business’ (B2B) e-procurement system into new and current business areas;
2. Responsible for the management of B2B process including system management, user training & liaising with suppliers regarding potential opportunities
3. Increase internal customer satisfaction by supporting and improving the efficiencies of the procurement cycle;
4. Manage the Prysmian supplier base approval process;
5. Supporting Central Purchasing Team in a range of on-going or to be defined projects as required;
6. Investigate invoice discrepancies, communicate contract renewals and terminations, and support our ‘internal contract timetable database;
7. Assisting negotiating contracts and setting up pricing agreements;
8. Support the purchasing team in carrying out spend analysis and market research worldwide;
9. Support with the renegotiation of Long Term Agreements as well as with the management of small RFX.
10. Provide general administrative support within the Purchasing Team which would include maintaining SAP supplier prices, Payment Terms analysis & discrepancies.
About You
11. You can think on your feet, are naturally organised and meticulous in attention to detail whilst maintaining a high-level overall view
12. You have “a head for numbers” and an interest in budget management
13. You have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
14. You build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, negotiating successfully with suppliers and showing effective problem-solving skills
15. You have good spoken English and can work in the UK
16. Excellent IT skills, particularly in MS Office and Excel
