Overview
We’re looking for a Strategic Portfolio Manager (SPM) to join the CITB Central Portfolio Office (CPO). You’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring our projects, programmes and products are aligned with CITB’s strategic priorities and deliver real impact.

* Role: CPO Strategic Portfolio Manager
* Location – Based in Peterborough, with flexible working depending on business requirements
* Hours of Work – Full-time (35 hours per week) – Business operating hours are between 08:00-18:00)
* Contract: Fixed Term Contract
* Duration – 18 months
* Target Salary - £67,162 per annum
* Benefits Include: Car Allowance
What you’ll do
* Baseline, track, analyse and monitor the progress of the Strategic Portfolio and sub-portfolios, including health, progress and risks.
* Drive the quality of project data and help to embed best practice across the project and product life cycle, working with other CPO teams.
* Introduce, manage and maintain the Project Portfolio Management (PPM) system, linking all aspects of project delivery to the portfolio level.
* Provide timely portfolio insights to the Performance and Portfolio Director and senior leaders.
* Work with SROs, delivery teams and CPO leadership to translate strategy into actionable delivery plans.
* Coordinate regular portfolio planning and ensure adherence to CITB’s Portfolio Framework and standards.
* Champion collaboration and continuous improvement across the organisation.
About you
You’ll have strong experience in portfolio management, with excellent skills in planning, analysis and reporting. Comfortable engaging with senior leaders and delivery teams alike, you’ll be proactive, detail-focused and passionate about driving best practice.
