Role Overview
Salary £28,142 – £32,061 per annum | Permanent, Full‑time | 37 hours per week | Bamber Bridge, Lancashire
Lancashire Highways Service delivers all highways‑related schemes across the county, covering 4,300 miles of road, 151,000 streetlights and 2,955 bridges. The Highways Enquiries Officer Grade 6 works from home with occasional travel to County Hall or the Cuerden Depot in Bamber Bridge. Normal business hours are 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday, ensuring adequate telephone coverage.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the administration of highway casework for county council members and MPs across multiple districts.
* Administer customer complaints and FOI requests, following the formal complaints process.
* Collaborate with Technical Officers and the District Lead Team to investigate issues and communicate outcomes in a customer‑focused, timely manner.
* Provide proactive communications to stakeholders before highway works commence.
* Assist the Complaints Officer in handling Highways complaints.
