Senior Infrastructure Engineer - Location: Leicester (Hybrid, 3 days on-site) - Salary: £50,000
A well-established organisation in Leicester is looking for an experienced Senior Infrastructure Engineer to take ownership of their IT infrastructure and help drive a programme of improvement across cloud, security, and end-user platforms.
This is a genuine hands-on technical role with real scope. You'll be the go-to person for everything from M365 architecture and Azure to endpoint management, networking, and cybersecurity; working closely with senior stakeholders and taking the lead on infrastructure decisions.
What you'll be doing:
* Administering and optimising a Microsoft 365 environment (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive)
* Managing Azure infrastructure including VMs, VNETs, and landing zones
* Leading on identity and access management via Microsoft Entra ID, including Conditional Access, MFA, PIM, and Passwordless
* Endpoint management across Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android using Intune and Autopilot
* Owning the security posture; vulnerability management, patch management, Defender, Purview, and liaison with an external SOC
* Supporting and maintaining LAN/WAN, Meraki networking, Cisco VPN, and backup/DR processes
* Keeping the organisation aligned to Cyber Essentials Plus, GDPR, and ISO27001
* Producing documentation, runbooks, and contributing to process automation
What we're looking for:
* Strong, hands-on M365 and Azure experience
* Solid grounding in security; endpoint, identity, and compliance
* Familiarity with tools including Mimecast, Nessus/Tenable, Alert Logic, Microsoft Sentinel
* Good networking knowledge (Meraki experience useful)
* Experience in an MSP or multi-tenant environment is a plus
* PowerShell scripting ability is desirable
* Clear communicator who can manage stakeholders as confidently as they can manage a firewall
