Are you passionate about public health and keen to make a lasting impact in your local community? Walsall Council is looking for an enthusiastic Smokefree Engagement Officer to help deliver its ambitious Tobacco Control Plan.
This is a unique opportunity to work at the heart of public health and community wellbeing, focusing on creating healthier, smokefree workplaces across Walsall.
? Key Responsibilities:
Engage and collaborate with local businesses to promote smokefree environments.
Provide advice and support to employers on enhancing smokefree workplace policies.
Deliver training and guidance to staff to encourage smoking cessation.
Actively promote local stop-smoking services.
Prioritise outreach to workplaces where staff may be less likely to engage in traditional health improvement services.
Work closely with partners and stakeholders to support wider tobacco control strategies.
? What You’ll Need:
A degree in a relevant field.
At least 12 months of recent experience in public health, ideally focused on smoking cessation or similar health improvement initiatives.
Strong interpersonal and organisational skills, and the ability to manage hybrid working, site visits, and stakeholder engagement.
This role falls under Lot 15 – Social Care (Unqualified) and offers the chance to contribute meaningfully to both national and local public health initiatives.
