The post holders are responsible for ensuring a high quality and responsive Linen service is available for the Trust, its patients and staff with direct responsibility for Linen service assistants.
The post holders will develop, motivate and lead this professional team to provide the Trust’s Linen Service department with responsibility to ensure the deployment of staff to meet the organisations requirements and will be expected to challenge the traditional boundaries of service delivery by introducing innovative change to develop a multi-skilled team of staff.
The post holders will assist the management team in achieving its business and operational goals in line with the needs of the users and contributing towards the Trust’s capacity objectives.
The Post holders may be required to work in any of the areas operated by Linen Services across the trust.
This role will be sited at the QMC / Citysite but will be expected to cover the other site as and when required.

Listed below is the range of services predominantly covered by the scope of the job description and as directed by the Linen Service Management Teams on a daily basis; some of which may only be pertinent to either one or both campuses. This post will be responsible for the production of clean linen for the Trust through the laundry and dry cleaning unit. The laundry currently produces 155,000 pieces of linen per week and this is essential to the operation of the Trust and patient care. The post holders will be responsible for achieving the current PPOH target and helping to drive forward productivity on a daily basis.
Directly responsible for the performance of Linen service assistants, reporting to the Linen Production Manager.
Deputise for the Linen Production Manager as required by the Management Team.
Set objectives and agree personal development plans for all staff and ensure that their performance is monitored inline with Trust policies. Plan and carry out annual appraisals and that plans are in place for staff to meet short, medium and long term goals inline with Trust objectives.
