D&T Technician | Eastbourne | £24,000 - £26,000 | Full-Time | 37 hours | Permanent
This school is seeking a practical, organised, and enthusiastic Design and Technology Technician to support their busy secondary school workshop. This hands-on role is ideal for someone with a background in carpentry, engineering and joinery who enjoys working with tools and materials.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare tools, materials, and equipment for practical lessons.
* Maintain and repair workshop machinery.
* Ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
* Support teachers and students during practical activities and demonstrations.
* Keep the workshop clean, safe, and well-stocked.
* Assist with displays, stock control, and ordering supplies.
What We're Looking For
* Experience in a workshop or technical environment (school experience desirable)
* Strong organisational and communication skills.
* Experience in carpentry/woodwork.
* Working knowledge of health and safety regulations, including COSHH.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Enhanced DBS clearance (or willingness to obtain).
