About the Role: About the Role We are seeking an experienced Datacenter Project Manager to lead the strategic exit of two U.S.-based datacenter facilities. This includes the migration of five major workloads to Cloud/SaaS platforms, enabling significant cost savings and operational efficiency. The role demands deep expertise in datacenter decommissioning, application rationalization, and cross-functional coordination across infrastructure and business teams. How Will You Make an Impact You will drive the full lifecycle of datacenter exit from planning and risk mitigation to execution and benefits realization. Your leadership will ensure seamless workload migration, stakeholder alignment, and vendor coordination, all while maintaining system integrity and minimizing downtime. Your ability to manage complex dependencies and communicate effectively with executive stakeholders will be critical to the success of this transformation. What We Are Looking For We are looking for a proactive and technically astute project manager who thrives in high-stakes environments. You should be comfortable navigating ambiguity, influencing without authority, and bringing structure to complex infrastructure programs. Your ability to lead diverse teams, manage risks, and deliver results will be key. Qualifications and Experience PRINCE2 Practitioner or PMP certification (required) 7–10 years of progressive project management experience Experience managing infrastructure projects >$1M Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum, SAFe) and hybrid delivery models Proven success in delivering complex, multi-stream projects Executive-level stakeholder management and reporting Benefits realization and performance tracking using Power BI/Tableau Experience with datacenter migrations (AWS, Azure, hybrid) Strong understanding of server, storage, networking, virtualization, and cloud technologies Core Project Management Skills Strategic planning and coordination across multiple application teams Risk identification and mitigation (e.g., downtime, data loss) Leadership of cross-functional teams (network engineers, sysadmins, app owners, vendors) Stakeholder communication and expectation management Relationship building and influence without authority Risk and issue management in legacy and cloud environments Executive reporting and dashboard creation Technical & Domain Knowledge Understanding of datacenter/cloud environments and migration strategies (lift-and-shift, re-platforming, hybrid) Familiarity with IaaS, PaaS, SaaS models and application dependencies Infrastructure and application architecture awareness Experience with pre/post migration testing and validation Soft Skills Persistence and follow-through—proactive in chasing updates and resolving blockers Facilitation and negotiation—balancing priorities across teams Comfort with ambiguity—bringing clarity and structure to undefined scopes Tools & Methodologies Proficiency in JIRA, MS Project, Power BI, Confluence Experience with Agile/Waterfall hybrid delivery About Wiley: Wiley is a trusted leader in research and learning, our pioneering solutions and services are paving the way for knowledge seekers as they work to solve the world's most important challenges. The range below represents Wiley's good faith and reasonable estimate of the base pay for this role at the time of posting roles either in the United Kingdom, Canada or USA. It is anticipated that most qualified candidates will fall within the range, however the ultimate salary offered for this role may be higher or lower and will be set based on a variety of non-discriminatory factors, including but not limited to, geographic location, skills, and competencies.
